5 must-have eBike accessories

Whether you want to be full teched-out or are just after the basic eBike must-haves, we’ve compiled a list of our 5 essential accessories every eBike riders needs.

Helmet

The ultimate must-have accessory for all bike users has to be a well-fitting safety helmet. Helmets are parallel to eBike safety and the Highway Code recommends road cyclists wear a helmet when riding at all times.

When choosing a bicycle helmet, it’s important to choose one that fits well with little movement and that covers the forehead sufficiently. A helmet that fits correctly will protect your head more effectively than a helmet that shifts side to side.

When purchasing and fitting a helmet, make sure that the helmet doesn’t move any more than an inch when on the head. If the helmet is moving too much, this may indicate that you need to downsize your helmet or fasten the straps.

Although it is not currently law to wear a helmet when riding an eBike in the UK, Avaris highly recommend you do to ensure your safety when riding.

Spare battery

When wanting to go the extra mile (or 50!) having a spare battery on hand is an absolute must-have eBike accessory.

Our Samsung 36V 10.4AH, 2600maH Battery for our Avaris 3.6 Road eBike gives you 60-80k per charge allows you to benefit from 5 levels of assisted riding and only takes 3-5 hours for a full charge.

Bike lock

No matter where you ride your eBike, a secure bike lock is indispensable when it comes to preventing theft. There are many bike locks to choose from, including U-locks, chains and folding locks.

Avaris eBikes recommends either a U-lock or a chain lock for their thickness and security. Despite them being heavy and potentially annoying to keep on you whilst riding, they will provide you with the most security when locking up your bike and leaving it unattended.

Folding locks on the other hand have weak points due to the nature of their design which means any willing thief can steal your electric bike with relative ease.

Puncture kit

You don’t know how it’s happened but you’ve noticed your tyre is flat as a pancake – it’s happened to us all at least once! Thankfully, there are plenty of emergency puncture repair kits on the market that works well with the Avaris eBike tyres.

Puncture repair kits are cheap and small enough to fit in your backpack or car boot for easy access when out on the road. There are even self-sealing patches available for quick fixes when on the road.

Vinka App

The Vinka App is a great app for those wanting to get more out of their eBike rides. Vinka provides you with insight into your ride, providing you with information such as your speed, distance, pedalling rate and trend chart straight to your phone.

Vinka also gives you the ability to track and record your rides, previous routes and your fitness progress.

Learn more about how the Vinka App works with the Avaris road eBike and how to set up the app.
